ACTION ALERT -- VOTE YES ON SJRes.26

Call Senator Richard Shelby and Senator Jeff Sessions  and ask them to vote YES on (SJRes.26)  to stop the EPA from imposing Obama's carbon scheme which he is using to get the regulations and taxes that's in the Cap and Trade Bill. If we don't stop the EPA, more jobs will be lost, more taxes will be imposed and more of our freedom will be lost. The vote on this resolution will be in a few days.

Rights and Government PDF Print E-mail
Government
Written by Chad Capps

Each individual has many inalienable rights. For example, I have the right to defend my person and my property. If I wanted to I could stand guard over my property 24 hours a day. Because I have that right, I can choose to delegate that authority of defense to another. This is how we get police departments. So the police represent an example of good government, because they operate using authority delegated to them by people, who had that right themselves, but chose to delegate it to another.
However, ask yourself this question. Do I as a person have the right to take from my rich neighbor and give to a poor neighbor because I feel bad for the poor neighbor? No, of course I do not have this right! This means that I cannot delegate this right to the government no matter how badly I feel for the poor. People can voluntarily help all they want, but we cannot use government to force what we ourselves have no authority to do.
So here is a general principle for you. Take any proposed or actual government program or power and ask yourself this: If there were only two people in the world do you have the right to force your neighbor to do what the proposed power or program will do? For example, do you have the right to force your neighbor to have a fence around their pool? If you don’t have that authority, then you cannot legitimately delegate that authority to the government.
This is a great way to evaluate what government should and should not be doing.

Constitutionally Limited Government PDF Print E-mail
Government

(This was written by a member of the Huntsville Tea Party)

Distressing politics adversely affect daily lives and hinder our future plans. My quest is sharing things explicit in guiding the conduct of government without regard to political party persuasions. Our Constitutional freedoms allowed America’s emulation around the globe, for which we fought and died. Without them, our America would not exist.
Cleaving to the 1789 Constitution of the United States with Amendments is imperative. Although a secular document, it is the sacrosanct legal route of our nation as is the Bible, for most, the route of spiritual life.
Those elected to Congress, whether Senators or Members of the House, took their formal oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, as did our President for his inauguration. If their oaths are not honored, they and he would loom as a menace to the United States and its people.
Article IV, Section 4, provides a “guarantee” to every state a Republican Form of Government within their borders. The guarantee is unlimited; yet political favors and financial advantages fatten those states devoted to Washington; and deny those who differ, clearly violating the “guarantee” of state government.
The 10th Amendment articulates the United States has only limited powers given or delegated to it. All other powers not denied the states are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. Washington is denied tyrannical power through crafty speech and political oratory to ignore over 200 years of our Constitution’s heritage. America may age but “We The People” must actively refuse to let it and our Constitution die by whatever powerful and peaceful political means are available. Never Give Up!!
