Should we hold a Huntsville rally on April 15th?

Raise taxes?

Do you think it is possible for the federal government to balance the budget without raising taxes?

Tea Party Event

What an outstanding turnout everyone! Thank you for coming to our April 15th Tax Day Tea Party.
Anyone who took any video of the event, please post it to YouTube and then email me a link. I would love to see it and share it with everyone.
Here are some thoughts I've had since the event.
1) Our official count of the raffle cards combined with the percentage of people who wouldn’t fill them out means that we had approx. 2,000 people there.
2) Our turnout was noticeably bigger than last year, which means we are growing and reaching more people.
3) WHNT had the best TV news coverage of our event, except that they said we had “almost a thousand people”. The other TV stations all said “hundreds of people” and had very short mentions of our event.
4) Patricia McCarter wrote a good story about this event on the front page of the Huntsville Times. It was accurate and fair. You can also read her article here: http://blog.al.com/breaking/2010/04/tax_day_tea_party_draws_an_est.html
5) Huntsville Times has a series of great pictures of our event here: http://photos.al.com/4462/gallery/tax_day_tea_party/index.html
6) Dale Jackson’s advertising and talk show coverage of our Tea Party (92.5 FM – 770 AM 6:00 – 9:00 AM) was very helpful as well as his work as emcee to keep the crowd going. On his behalf, please spread the word about his talk show (time and channel) to anyone you know, who doesn’t listen already. He really does do the best local coverage of all things and people political. Thank you again Dale!
7) We had just one heckler, being noisy and making it hard for people around him to hear. He would stop every time people pulled out their video cameras. Someone near him finally came and got me to talk to him. After I told him to quit, he was good the rest of the event. No other problems were reported to me.
8) We raised a good amount of money. Not enough to last the year, but a healthy percentage of what we will need.
9) You can find more info about Docs 4 Patient Care here: http://docs4patientcare.org/
Since this was my first event as the leader of this movement as well as the first speech I have given at a Tea Party event, it was both amazing and humbling to me to have so many people come out and to have the event go so smoothly. Again, I say thanks to all of you!
Many of you asked for a copy of my speech. If you can’t see the attachment to this message you can get a copy here: http://huntsvilleteaparty.com/cms/images/stories/chad_capps_speech_2010.pdf
