FIRST, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PIECES OF NEWS ON REP. PARKER GRIFFITH LATELY. The Huntsville Times has asked the question in a recent editorial, "How Reliable is U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith?" and made the statement, "As this board has written before, we are concerned that Griffith's party switch is based on self-preservation, not the good of the 5th district." Members of the local Madison County Republican Executive Committee tried, unsuccessfully, to bar him from the Republican ballot on Monday night. That same night they passed two successful resolutions: 1 endorsing Griffith's two opponents and stating they do not support him; and another requesting that the state and national party, and elected officials, do not support any of the Republican candidates in the primary so that the people in this district can decide. Griffith has also been reprimanded numerous times for not giving back Democratic donations after first offering to do so.
