I mentioned the state stimulus plan in the last email. You can read about it here http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2010/01/alabama_gov_bob_rileys_draft_b.html As Brian with Flashpoint blog stated: "I've got a better idea. The state should live within its means. Don't ask the federal government to print more money it doesn't have just to prevent the state from making painful decisions." Our state needs to apply common sense and simply should not spend money it does not have. Please ask your state legislators to vote against this; you can contact them here http://www.legislature.state.al.us/misc/zipsearch.html And please contact Gov. Riley and let him know we do not want this plan or this type of spending in our state. http://governor.alabama.gov/contact.aspx
There is a special election in Massachusetts on Jan 19th to fill Ted Kennedy's vacant Senate seat. If Conservative Republican Scott Brown wins it will keep the Democrats from having their 60 vote supermajority in the Senate and will be the key factor in being able to stop Nationalized Healthcare and other pieces of legislation from being rammed down our throats. You can sign-up to help by making phone calls for his campaign here: To join the phone bank go to the Tea Party Phone Bank for Brown site (Just scroll down below "I prefer Tea to Kool-Aid" and there is a link to sign up) at: http://brownbrigade.ning.com/group/teapartyphonebankbrownbrigade Also, you can donate to Scott Brown's campaign at http://www.brownforussenate.com/
