Please spread the following information:

  1. State Sovereignty Resolution (SJR 27) has passed the Senate and is headed to the House. Unfortunately, chances are House Majority Leader Ken Guin will hold it up in committee (as this has happened before.) Please contact your State Representative to tell them how you want them to vote on the State Sovereignty Resolution; you can contact them here http://www.legislature.state.al.us/misc/zipsearch.html
Also, you can contact Rep. Ken Guin here http://www.legislature.state.al.us/HOUSE/representatives/housebios/hd014.html
  2. I mentioned the state stimulus plan in the last email. You can read about it here http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2010/01/alabama_gov_bob_rileys_draft_b.html
As Brian with Flashpoint blog stated: "I've got a better idea. The state should live within its means. Don't ask the federal government to print more money it doesn't have just to prevent the state from making painful decisions." Our state needs to apply common sense and simply should not spend money it does not have. Please ask your state legislators to vote against this; you can contact them here http://www.legislature.state.al.us/misc/zipsearch.html  And please contact Gov. Riley and let him know we do not want this plan or this type of spending in our state. http://governor.alabama.gov/contact.aspx
  3. There is a special election in Massachusetts on Jan 19th to fill Ted Kennedy's vacant Senate seat. If Conservative Republican Scott Brown wins it will keep the Democrats from having their 60 vote supermajority in the Senate and will be the key factor in being able to stop Nationalized Healthcare and other pieces of legislation from being rammed down our throats. You can sign-up to help by making phone calls for his campaign here: To join the phone bank go to the Tea Party Phone Bank for Brown site (Just scroll down below "I prefer Tea to Kool-Aid" and there is a link to sign up) at: http://brownbrigade.ning.com/group/teapartyphonebankbrownbrigade
Also, you can donate to Scott Brown's campaign at http://www.brownforussenate.com/
  4. Don't forget the"Welcome Back" rally in Montgomery on Jan 19th (this coming Tuesday) at noon on the State House steps. Three key pieces of legislation will be supported including: the State Sovereignty Resolution, Health Care Freedom Act, and Firearms & Ammunition Freedom Act. You can read more information at www.welcomebackrally.ning.com

If you would like to ride a bus or carpool to Montgomery, please contact Deborah King at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is a great opportunity for you to talk to your legislators about any of the current issues.

Thank you for all you do!
