Don't forget that the Alabama State Legislature is in session starting today! Contact your representative and senator to let them know what you want done in Alabama. Key issues: State Stimulus Package (yes, you read it right), Charter Schools, Furloughs or Layoffs to State Employees (due to the lack of funds), State Sovereignty Resolution, Health Care Freedom Act, Firearms & Ammunition Freedom Act. You can find your legislators here. (The length of the regular session is limited to 30 meeting days within a period of 105 calendar days. There are usually two meeting or "legislative" days per week, with other days devoted to committee meetings.)
Also, don't forget about the Winter Welcome Back Rally that tea parties and like-minded groups from around the state have organized. This rally will be January 19th (next Tuesday) on the steps of the State House, in Montgomery, from 12pm - 1pm. This rally is to convince our legislators to pass the State Sovereignty Resolution, the Health Care Freeom Act, and the Firearms & Ammunition Freedom Act in particular. The purpose is for the people of Alabama to communicate with our elected legislators respectfully, let them know that we want these things passed, and build relationships. It is an informative rally, and citizens from all over the state will be attending.
Please spread the word!... Thank you for all you do!
