Brown wins it will keep the Democrats from having their 60 vote supermajority in the Senate and will be the key factor in being able to stop Nationalized Healthcare and other pieces of legislation from being rammed down our throats. POLITICS: Did you know that only 2% of registered voters contribute ANY money to a political candidate! That is so sad. The plain and simple truth is that it costs money to spread a candidate’s message and win. If you find a candidate that is in line with your conservative principles, we encourage you to donate money to help them win. Any amount is helpful to them, even just $25. We will NEVER get good honest, conservative candidates into government if we are not willing to help them win!
CANDIDATE SURVEYS: We have completed the candidate surveys for the AL-5 Congressional election candidates and are sending them to Les Phillip, Mo Brooks, and Parker Griffith (the only announced candidates) and will give them a 2 week deadline to fill them out. Once we get their responses we will post them on our website.
WE ARE IMPROVING: Many people have asked if we are sending a representative to the Nashville Tea Party Convention where Sarah Palin will be speaking. We have decided that this event is too expensive to be a good use of our funds. However, we are sending leadership representatives to two other seminars. These are more cost effective and offer more than just good speakers, but instead provide specific training that we will use to be more effective as a Tea Party.
PARKER GRIFFITH: As you know the Huntsville Tea Party recently put out a press release regarding Parker Griffith stating in part that “We do not consider him a constitutional conservative …or even a conservative at all.” The Tea Party has as our core principles; fiscal responsibility, limited constitutional government, individual liberties, and the free market. Let me share with you a few facts to show why we are so opposed to Griffith (no matter what party he is with!) based on these principles. (Please share these with your friends by email and Facebook):
a. Not fiscally responsible:
i. Voted with the Democrats to increase mortgage credit availability during the housing crisis, which was caused by an excess of mortgage credit. House 2009 votes 88 & 89
ii. Voted with Republicans against the Stimulus bill HR1 as a conservative should, BUT voted with the Democrats 3 times against amendments that would have reduced the size of the stimulus bill.
The Democrats passed this stimulus bill without his vote showing that he was only fiscally responsible when he knew the Democrats would be able to pass it without him. House 2009 votes 42, 43, & 44
b. Not Constitutionally grounded:
i. At the UNA town hall (summer 2009) when asked how the House health care bill was constitutional, he said, "We are past that” and “That's like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube."
c. Unprincipled:
i. Voted against the Republicans when they were trying to remove Charlie Rangel from his Leadership position due to Rangel’s extreme corruption. House Resolution 805
BUMPER STICKERS: There will be new bumper stickers available soon. We are getting bumper stickers made to express our position on Parker Griffith. They will say “No Honor, No Trust, NO Griffith”
KEEP POLITICS LOCAL: Did you know that when Parker Griffith switched parties to become a Republican in name only (RINO), no one from the local county Republican Executive Committee was consulted to see how his constituents might feel about his switch! To make matters worse we have heard strong rumor from reliable sources that national and state Republican leaders are working to raise money for Griffith’s campaign! We strongly encourage everyone to contact Michael Steele, Jeff Sessions, and Robert Aderholt as well as Rush, Hannity, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Andrew Breitbart. Let them know that we do NOT support Griffith and ask our National & State Republican leaders to STAY OUT. Encourage those in the media to report this story and our feelings. We are very blessed in the AL-5 district to already have 2 good conservative candidates running for U.S. Congress and we don’t need outsiders trying to force this political opportunist on us without our consent.
