"President Obama continually justifies government interference in the employer/employee relationship on the grounds that taxpayer money has been used to prop up many private corporations and banks. The "too big to fail" mindset has allowed government to forcefully rescue collapsing organizations, then guilt the same organizations into submission to de facto government operation. This interference is incompatible with the free market principles that have made the United States the economic leader of the world for more than 100 years. Conversely, large corporations and special interest groups, the same that Obama has publicly railed against, have been granted special privileges and backroom meetings with the administration. The government playing favorites, and those groups playing along, is equally as distressing as the government punishing certain private entities."
"The President spoke of compromise, after a year of leading his party to refuse Republicans a seat at the table for any substantive discussion. He spoke of health-care legislation as a pie for each of the states to fight for their portion, with no concern for the various points of the legislation that render it unconstitutional. In the end, what we heard was not the 'State of the Union,' but rather a wish-list of focus-group tested talking points with no basis in Obama's existing policy initiatives. We would welcome the opportunity to commend Obama on taking steps in the right direction, but this speech was nothing of the sort."
"We believe the actual 'State of the Union' hangs in the balance. Our greatest years could be ahead of us, but only if the stifling policies of big government are put aside, and our economic engines are allowed to run full throttle. We can be the great beacon of freedom and success we once were, but only if the government gets out of the way. We implore congress and the President to reverse their current course and open the doors to new and expanding businesses."
