Jim Martin of Gadsden will speak in Huntsville on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7:00 p. m. at the Holiday Inn Downtown (formerly Huntsville Hilton).
Mr. Martin is a very capable and dynamic speaker. His remarks and comments on the eve of the upcoming historic election in Alabama should be very timely. Jim Martin was the first serious Republican state-wide candidate in Alabama. He ran for the U. S. Senate against Lister Hill in 1962 and probably won, but was counted out in a close race. He later served in the U. S. House of Representatives and as Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources in the second Fob James Administration.
He has made enormous contributions to the development of the Alabama Republican Party and you might benefit from hearing him tell about his involvement in the early days of the modern Republican Party in Alabama. He will be speaking on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Huntsville’s Twickenham Republican Women. Tickets for the dinner are $30 each and reservations may be made by calling Linda Coats at 256-837-8198.
Please attend this dinner and show your appreciation to Republican women for 50 years of involvement in the campaigns of numerous Republican candidates.
